To start off, it was on this past Tuesday (5/8) that I received my pedicure. I called prior to see if they're busy, which they weren't. I walked in there ten minutes later, & there was only one other customer getting a manicure. They recognized me from my recent phone call. I used the bathroom, and I got seated for my pedicure. My nail technician was definitely irritated which working in CS myself as a supervisor, I've been taught to put aside your mood for the good of the customer. I get it not everyone has great emotional regulation skills. My nail tech was not polite at all, & kinda gave off an "let's get this over with" attitude. She didn't rush but also didn't put in an extra effort either. I guess she thought I wasn't going to tip (which I did & always do). The massage which is one of most anticipating things of a pedicure was ok. Not the worst but certainly not the best. She took her time applying things including nail polish, moisturizer, & exfoliating. My problem now is despite wearing flip flops that entire day & fan drying my feet there for 20 minutes, my nail polish is already chipping on several toes and it's been less than 72 hours. I expect this from a regular manicure (which I stopped getting those in favor of French gel), but a with a regular pedicure that's a red flag. A red flag like they might use inferior products to save money. Not the most sanitizing place to get a pedicure, but Leon Nails was far from a filthy dump. I am concerned about ventilation problems this might have due to the structure of the property. They also give you a ten percent discount if you pay with cash, which I always do. The nail tech that processed the transaction also didn't seem interested in retaining me as a client which kinda disappoints because I can tell this place is lower volume compared to nearby salons. Overall, I'd say Leon Nails is good for once in a while (like if you're not near your usual salon). Definitely, not as your go to spot for nail care.
